Overview

Aegis-Beacon is released under the MIT License. You can build, modify and sell your own units, but the license and the safety framing travel with the work.

MIT in Practice

You mayYou must
Use it commerciallyInclude the license text
Modify itKeep the copyright notice
Sell buildsNot hold the author liable
Rebrand itNot imply endorsement

Crediting

A typical credit in a derivative project or article:

Based on Aegis-Beacon by Leonardo Galli (MIT License), https://github.com/Leo-Galli/Aegis-Beacon

  • “Aegis-Beacon” with the hyphen on first reference.
  • The brand mark and banner are covered by the same MIT terms; see the branding page for assets and usage rules.
  • Do not use the name to imply official certification or SAR endorsement.

Safety Framing

If you distribute builds or derivative documentation, keep the honest framing: this is an experimental tool, not a certified distress beacon. See Safety and Liability.
